Can a ‘designer suit’ really fit?
May 17 2011
In a recent conversation with two customers I was struck by their comments about how ‘designer suit’ should really fit them. The first customer is a middle aged CEO of an advertising agency and he felt that the style and cut of the suit should come first and the fit was secondary. The other customer is young city trader with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. He has had several suits from our company. However he thought he would have a look around London’s West End at other tailors and designer stores to see what they could offer. He kept being told that the garments he tried fitted him well when he knew they didn’t. He then realised that people always complimented him every time he wears a master tailor suit. He then decided to buy 4 more suits from our company! We discussed that using our tailoring system it is possible to have a made to measure suit that is very fashionable and ‘designer’ yet fits the body shape perfectly. Therefore there doesn’t have to be a compromise between the body fitting into the suit or the suit fitting into the body.
